• Further to the above, 40% of the ordinary share capital of the company is on the market at R240 000

The advantage of both companies is that an established client base already exists and a new client pipeline that essentially funnels clients to financial advisers through other companies connected to the group, without them having to canvass.

Be responsible for the assessment of recover-ability of claims in terms of the policy and all administration of marine insurance claims (cargo and hull). You will be expected to have a good knowledge of marine insurance, shipping documentation, Incoterms, be familiar with the various types of transportation of cargo (ship, rail, air, road etc.) and the risks associated therewith.

The ability to validate claims against the policy including checking for any potential fraudulent activity.  A sound geographical knowledge would be beneficial

• Acknowledge claims within the time frame defined by our SLA’s
• Request relevant information and  documentation
• Appointment of Surveyor (if required)
• Validate recoverability of claims in terms of the policy
• Make recommendations  to Management and comment on claims
• Adjust claim calculation in terms of the policy
• Manage claims diary
• Manage claim recoveries
• Prepare claims stats for Management meetings
• Understand and be able to apply Vat Rules in respect of claims
• Understand and be able to apply policy excess/deductible
• Understand and decipher contractual obligations and responsibilities in respect of various parties relative to a claim
• Handle all claims matters from start to finish

VFM is looking for a suitably qualified EE candidate to fill the role of Senior Client Liaison Officer.

Purpose of the Role

The Senior Client Liaison Officer works closely with the Fund Managers and is generally the first point of contact for clients’ administrators and consultants regarding audit requirements, reporting and administration.

The purpose of the role is to be the link between the client (including their administrators, consultants and auditors), the front office (fund managers and dealing desk) and the back office (administrators and custodians).

The role can be divided into four sections, namely: relationship building; reporting; query management and operational efficiency.

Required technical skills and knowledge

Qualifications

Minimum – Diploma in Accounting
BCom or other relevant qualification
Experience

5+ years in a client administration environment
Working knowledge of equities, bonds, derivatives,collective investments and money market instruments

Statutory Compliance

General understanding of FAIS, FICA, CISCA, Regulation 28 (Pension Fund Act) requirements

Key Accountabilities

Building relationships with clients in conjunction with the Fund Manager and Business Development team
Administration and reporting
Liaising with each designated client, front office and back office, attending to and resolving queries and requests on both segregated and unit trust funds
Assisting with training of junior staff/graduates
Maintaining existing processes and procedures as well as documenting new ones as the need arises
